Program outline

SATURDAY 12 April 2025

  • Arrival to Helsinki.

  • Hotel/hostel accommodation – Hotel Arthur or other accommodation.

  • Free time in Helsinki.

SUNDAY 13 April 2025

  • Meeting at 12:00 in front of the hotel Arthur --> guided Helsinki city walk tour.

  • (Time for lunch and luggage pick-up at the hotel.)

  • Bus to Pori at about 15:00/16:00 (4 hours), departure time and place to be confirmed.

  • Arrival to Pori 19:00/20:00 – Torget Apart Hotel in Pori, located in the city center.

  • Time for eating out / visiting a grocery store nearby.

MONDAY 14 April 2025

  • 9:30-11:15 Welcome to UCPori – Pohjoisranta 11 A, walking distance from the hotel.

    • Welcome to the University Consortium of Pori, Director Katariina Yrjönkoski

    • Lecture of Finnish education and communication, Dr. Kimmo Ahonen

    • Research at the Tampere University unit at UCPori, Professor Tarmo Lipping

    • Introduction to the GPT Lab and the premises of UCPori

  • 11:15-12:00 Lunch at the campus (offered by TAU), restaurant Sofia

  • 12:15 Bus Transportation from Pori to Rauma

  • 13:00-14:00 Company visit to an industrial site that makes extensive use of AI and robotics, Metsä Fibre/Rauma Sawmill

  • 14:30-15:30 Guided tour to UNESCO World Heritage Site

  • 15:30-16:30 Free time in Rauma

  • 16:30-17:15 Return transportation to Pori

  • In the evening (at about 19.00): Student association get-together at the Student House Saikku (Addr. Antinkatu 7, Pori)

TUESDAY 15 April 2025

  • 9:00-12:00: “How AI agents transform software industry?” Workshop on the application of large language models and artificial intelligence. PhD Researchers Zeeshan Rasheed & Sami Malik

  • 12:00-13:00 Lunch Break (at own cost)

  • 13:15 Meeting at the UCPori main lobby for City Walk, including:

    • 13:30-14:30 Visit to Pori City Hall (& meeting with the city representative)

    • 15:00-16:30 Visit to the campus of the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences/ RoboAI Research and Development Center

  • Free time

WEDNESDAY 16 April 2025

  • 8:35 Meeting at the UCPori main lobby --> bus transportation to Tactic Games

  • 9:00-11:00 Company visit to Tactic Games (Addr. Raumanjuovantie 2)

  • Lunch (at own cost)

  • 12:30-13:45 Cultural lecture: Towards understanding 'ways to do things' in Finland, Dr. Jouni Lyly-Yrjänäinen (University Lecturer, Tampere University)

  • 14:00-17:30- Workshop: “Brain computer interfaces in gaming: combining physi(ologi)cal with digital”, Prof. Tarmo Lipping

THURSDAY 17 April 2025

  • Morning (until noon) Free time to visit the city of Pori, museums etc.

  • 12:30 Meeting at the UCPori main lobby. Bus transportation to the coastal region of Pori, Yyteri.

  • Lunch offered at the Yyteri Golf restaurant. Visit to Yyteri beach, the longest beach in the Nordics.

  • Visit to the wind power locations in the Pori seaside regions and Reposaari fishing village.

  • 17:00-19:00 Sauna evening by the sea – bus transportation to Laitakari, located in the neighboring municipality Luvia.

FRIDAY 18 April 2025

  • Departure from Pori by train in the morning, travel time to Helsinki Airport (via Tampere and Tikkurila, change of train) approx. 4 hours.

  • Late afternoon or evening flight to Paris/or staying in Helsinki over the weekend.
