The UCPori steering group for research cooperation is responsible for ensuring that a visiting scholar candidate meets the criteria above and for issuing the letter of invitation. The UCPori Coordination Unit manages the administration of the appointments.
After signing the contract, a bill will be sent to the visiting scholar. After paying the bill, the visiting scholar will receive an appointment letter that
- identifies the academic organization in which the visiting scholar will be housed
- specifies the term of the visiting scholar designation (dates of residency at UCPori)
- confirms that no salary or other financial compensation, including insurance or other health and welfare benefits, will be provided by UCPori in conjunction with the appointment
After receiving the appointment letter, the visiting scholar may apply for Residence Permit before arrival to Finland (see Before arrival).
