Academic calendar

The academic year is divided into two semesters, the autumn semester and the spring semester. The academic year consists of four teaching periods and there is an examination week(s) at the end of each teaching period.

Please take a look at the academic calendars of each university unit at UCPori for exact dates.

The orientation days is compulsory for exchange students and therefore we strongly recommend arriving in Pori before that.

  • Orientation days for exchange students: week 34 (Thu 22.8. – Fri 23.8.2024)
  • 1st period: weeks 35–41 (26.8.–13.10.2024)
    Exams/self-study: week 42 (14.10.–20.10.2024)
  • 2nd period: weeks 43–49 (21.10.–8.12.2024)
    Exams/self-study: week 50 (9.12.–15.12.2024)
  • Breaks / national holidays:
    Independence Day 6.12.2024
    Christmas break:     23.12.2024 - 6.1.2025.
