Learning expeditions for French students launched at the University Consortium of Pori

Finnish higher education and research attracts interest abroad. The University Consortium of Pori has launched a new type of collaboration with a French university to meet demand. UCPori has already welcomed two student groups from the Paris-based EFREI University to a week-long learning expedition in Pori. The experience has been more than successful.

New international cooperation brings Georgian exchange students to Pori

Georgian universities are rapidly becoming more international and are also turning their attention to Finland. The University Consortium of Pori has launched cooperation with two Georgian universities, and in the fall semester of 2025, four exchange students from Georgia studied in Pori. The exchange period taught the Georgian students a lot about the Finnish way of life and closeness to nature.

Widening horizons: from Brazil to Finland

Emerson Mainardes from Brazil took the opportunity and spent a three-month long professional visit in Finland, at the University Consortium of Pori. He gained valuable experience in his field of research and got to know the culture of a country that he knew very little of before his arrival.

International research insights – and a dive into Finnish culture

Emanuela Conti from Italy first visited Pori in 2017. Since then, she has built a strong relationship with the city and the University Consortium of Pori. During her third visit to Pori in early fall 2024, she had the opportunity to stay for an entire month and engage in more profound collaboration with the Turku School of Economics Pori unit, and to learn a lot more about the Finnish culture and mindset.
