Argentiinalaisia vieraita yliopistokeskuksessa 18.10.2018

Tampereen yliopiston Porin yksikkö ja INCASI-International Network for Comparative Research of Social Inequalities toivottaa UCPorin opiskelijat, opettajat ja tutkijat tervetulleiksi tutustumaan argentiinalaisin tutkijoihin, argentiinalaiseen yliopistomaailmaan ja tutkimukseen torstaina 18.10.2018 (August, 1. krs). Aamupäivällä on mahdollisuus tutustua argentiinalaiseen yliopistoon ja akateemiseen maailmaan tohtori Cecilia Blancon johdattamana. Tilaisuus on vapaamuotoinen keskustelutilaisuus.
Iltapäivällä pääsemme tutustumaan tuoreeseen argentiinalaiseen tutkimukseen, kun tohtori Magdalena Lemus luennoi omaan väitöstutkimuksensa pohjalta.

University of Tampere’s Unit of Pori and INCASI-International Network for Comparative Research of Social Inequalities warmly welcome students, teachers and researchers at UCPori to get acquainted with Argentinian researchers, academic world and universities and with resent Argentinian research on Thursday 18.10.2018, August (room 103), 1st floor.

Before lunch Dr. Cecilia Blanco from the National University of Córdoba guides us to Argentinian universities and academic system and in the afternoon Dr. Magdalena Lemus from the National University of La Plata gives us a lecture based on her doctoral research.

Cecilia Blanco is Ph. D in Latin American Social Studies, Center for Advanced Studies (CEA), National University of Córdoba (UNC), Cordoba, Argentina. MA in Social Sciences, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (FDyCS), UNC. Licentiate in Social Communication Research, FDyCS, UNC. Assistant Professor in two subjects (20 hours per week each) of the degree of Licentiate in Social Communication, School of Communication Sciences (FCC), UNC, Cordoba, Argentina. Research fellow by National Council for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICET), 2013-2015 (Doctoral Grant) and 2017-2019 (Pos-Doctoral Grant). INCASI visiting researcher, University of Tampere, Finland, 19.08 – 22.10.2018 and 15.08.-10.11.2016. Member of the project INCASI: International Network for Comparative Analysis of Social Inequalities (2016-2019) and a member of the Red de Laboratorios de Monitoreo de Inserción de Graduados (MIG), Argentina since 2011. Cecilia Blanco’s interests focus on higher education, transition from education to work life and issues of employment and social inequalities/equalities. Currently she is co-writing an article with docent Eriikka Oinonen (UTA) on Higer education policies and social equality in Argentina and Finland.

Magdalena Lemus holds a PhD in Social Sciences and BA in Sociology from the National University of La Plata (UNLP). She is a research fellow from the National Scientific and Technical Research Council of Argentina (CONICET) at the Institute for Research in Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences (FaHCE), National University of La Plata (UNLP). She has been an assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences (UNLP) and at the Pedagogical University (UNIPE) and currently she is a lecturer at a Teacher Training Institute.
Magdalena Lemus is a member of several research projects related to digital technologies appropriation and social inequalities, public policies for digital inclusion in Latin America; career paths among young people; and reflexivity on social sciences. Her main areas of interest include: digital technologies appropriation and literacy among children and young people; media, communications and virtual social networks; youth studies and transitions to adulthood; social and gender inequality and the evaluation of public policies for digital inclusion. She also interested in the analysis and development of qualitative research methods to study uses of digital technology such as virtual technology or trajectories studies applied to digital technology appropriation. Regarding these research fields, she has published papers in national and international journals.
